The 2026 UAWD Spring Membership Meeting was held on Sunday, May 3rd 2026.
The first item on the agenda was a Steering Committee report which included comments on the State of UAWD and a rundown of current leadership appointments. The Steering Committee report also included a brief report from the Financial Secretary.
This was followed by reports from the Daily Struggle Editorial Board, the Organizing Committee, the Membership Development Committee, and the ConCon Strategy Committee.
The next item on the agenda was the Steering Committee election. There was one candidate up for election. Votes were cast via PollEV. Zach Teachout was elected unanimously following our Bylaws, which require that all candidates pass the RCV threshold to be elected. Congratulations to our new SC member!
Next on the agenda was the business portion of the meeting.
The first order of business was the consideration and debate of a proposed Bylaws amendment that was submitted at the UAWD Winter Membership Meeting and was adopted by unanimous consent:
- Amendment #1. Streamlining the Process of Becoming a UAWD Supporter
That was followed by a discussion and vote on the proposed resolutions.
Three resolutions were adopted, after being debated and voted on in the following order:
- Resolution #3. A Critical Assessment of the Fain Administration: A Progressive Bureaucratic Approach, not Class Struggle Unionism
- Resolution #6. Authorizing the UAWD Steering Committee to Hire a Staff Person
- Resolution #5. Resolution to Enforce the Guidelines for the UAWD General Chat
After several hours of comradely discussion and debate, the meeting was adjourned by members present.
