The UAWD Annual Meeting was held on Sunday, January 25th, 2026.
The first item on the agenda was a Steering Committee report which included a rundown of the current status of the Steering Committee and an announcement of the newly appointed Co-Chairs of various committees. The Steering Committee report also included a report on and welcome to new UAWD members and supporters.
This was followed by a report from the Daily Struggle Editorial Board, The Organizing Committee, The Membership Development Committee, and the ConCon Strategy Committee.
Next on the agenda was the business portion of the meeting.
The first orders of business were two proposed resolutions placed on the consent agenda after receiving at least 90% support in our pre-meeting membership poll. Both resolutions were adopted as the consent agenda by unanimous consent.
- Resolution #1. Approving the Appointments to the Daily Struggle Editorial Board
- Resolution #3. Proposed Amendments to the Daily Struggle Charter regarding Art Directors and New Social Media Directors
That was followed by a discussion on the two proposed resolutions that were not on the consent agenda. Both of the proposed resolutions were adopted after being debated and voted on in the following order.
- Resolution #2. A Program for Building Local UAWD Chapters Grounded in Shop Floor Struggle
- Resolution #4. Clarifying Policies Governing UAWD’s Online Communication Spaces
The next item on the agenda was the Steering Committee election. There was 1 candidate up for election. Votes were cast via PollEV. Navruz Baum was elected unanimously following our Bylaws, which require that all candidates pass the RCV threshold to be elected. Congratulations to our new SC member!
We then held a membership discussion on the International Executive Board Election and a potential UAWD Endorsement Process, with insight provided into how UAWD endorsements were decided during the last IEB election. Members discussed the pros and cons of endorsing candidates in 2026 as well as different potential avenues for IEB election involvement.
This was followed by a discussion on confronting ICE and how we bring the fight to our shop floor. The membership held a brief remembrance for Brother Alex Pretti and then discussed the various strategies that are being considered and implemented across our locals.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Winter Membership Meeting!
