Resolution: Amendment to the Member Platform

This resolution was passed at the October 2025 Annual Membership Meeting via Zoom on October 26, 2025.

Whereas, in the UAWD Member Platform approved by the UAWD membership it states: “Class struggle is rooted in vehemently opposing racism, xenophobia, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, nationalism, ableism and all types of divisions used to pit workers against one another.” Whereas, the Member Platform may be amended as needed by the membership Be it therefore resolved that the following language be added to the platform as a separate point in the “political principles” section of the platform: Commitment to fighting racism and all forms of bigotry UAWD’s activism is not limited to purely economic issues. We are unashamedly in solidarity with the struggle against racism wherever it raises its ugly head, whether it takes the form of police brutality, job discrimination, abuse and harassment on and off the job, ICE terror, income inequality, etc. Likewise we are committed to fighting misogyny, transphobia, homophobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia, ableism, and all forms of bigotry. We refuse to let the bosses use hatred and scapegoating to divide us!
